What is General Dentistry?

At Together Dental we offer a wide range of general dentistry services designed to protect and restore your dental health. Preventative services include check-ups, hygiene and home dental care education. Our extensive range of restorative treatments includes root canals, fillings, crowns, bridges and dentures.

We also provide emergency dental treatment.

White Fillings

The replacement of metal coloured fillings with tooth coloured or white fillings is a safe procedure which involves removing the old filling and any decay which may have developed, then placing the tooth coloured filling material.

The material is made of composite that is very tough and can withstand the natural forces in your mouth when you bite and chew.

Having tooth coloured fillings will give you the confidence to laugh and smile without worrying that your fillings will be noticed.

Crowns and Bridges

We use a crown when you’ve broken a tooth. This might happen because of trauma, or weakening by decay or because of a very large filling.
The crown fits over the remaining part of a prepared tooth- like a cap, making it strong and giving it the shape of a natural tooth. It will also be the same colour as your teeth, giving the restoration a more natural appearance so it fits in with the rest of your teeth.

We recommend a bridge as a fixed solution to a missing tooth or teeth. Bridges are made of a precious metal base that gives them a solid structure and makes them extremely hard-wearing. We securely bond the bridge to your natural teeth and then place a crown in the gap. A bridge helps to strengthen the teeth and makes chewing and eating easier because they are fixed in place.

Dentures

If you have loose or ill-fitting dentures, your ability to eat and speak may be negatively affected.

Dentistry has massively advanced and we now have the ability to affix your denture to your jaw with dental implants. This treatment, known as implant over dentures or denture stabilisation, offers patients with dentures a more permanent solution and can improve quality of life significantly.

You will be able to enjoy your favourite foods again and feel comfortable smiling, safe in the knowledge that your dentures are staying put.

Andrew had the top right hand side of his mouth rebuilt, including dental implants and rebuilding the jaw. Andrew was in a lot of discomfort before having the procedure done.

Andrew was most impressed with the surgeon, Dr Adeel Ali. He explains that his easy personality, extensive knowledge, and skills put him at ease and made the whole thing easier.

“I am delighted. I can eat on both sides with comfort. And from a vanity perspective, I have a set of teeth that are really good.”
